Kwik Kerb FAQ's

1. Is Kwik Kerb® curbing permanent?

The concrete curbing we install is heavy, durable, and one continuous piece. It offers many benefits due to the preparation process unique to Kwik Kerb® which adds modifiers, other strength additives and sealers. However, if you need to remove the curbing, simply have it cut or busted into smaller sections that can be disposed of.

2. What ground preparation is needed?

A bed edger is used to create a shallow trench from 2 to 4 inches deep (determined by curbing choice) and approximately 9 inches wide. This is done to remove the grass/sod and create a smooth clean surface to lay the curbing. The yard, landscape, drive, sidewalk, or anything else on either side of the trench will not be disturbed.

3. How is your curbing priced?

Custom landscape borders are very affordable. The overall price depends on the amount of prep work, total linear feet, color, impression pattern, and texture of the job.

4. Is the curbing laid in sections or is it continuous?

It’s continuous. What appears to be a break in the curb is actually a control/expansion joint. This joint penetrates the curb about 40% of the way through. The curb is still one continuous piece. Due to concrete expanding and contracting with temperature changes, this technique is part of how we minimize the potential for the concrete to crack. If a crack does occur, it is more likely to stay contained within the joint and may not be noticeable.

5. How many colors can I choose from?

Coloring the curb has almost unlimited options. Our design experts will assist you in choosing the very best choice for your application. The look of your curb and your satisfaction is critical to us, and we specialize in helping you reach a quality color choice. (To see color options, please see the Colors page and see sample pictures throughout the website).

6. If a crack appears, can it be repaired?

Concrete can crack. However, we utilize techniques, materials and equipment that minimize this potential. Our curb extruder, the control joints and special Kwik Kerb® mixture processes help prevent cracking. But if visible cracking occurs, sections can be replaced or repaired and the curb will still be one continuous piece.

7. What is the difference in Eurostyle and Eurobrick?

Kwik Kerb Design offers two different curbing styles, Eurostyle and Eurobrick. Both borders are laid continuous with the only difference being their coloring process. Eurostyle curbing is a stamped concrete with over 10 patterns to choose from. Eurostyle curbing gives customers a stone or slate impression that can match existing features. Eurobrick, a patented Kwik Kerb process utilizes specially created clips to create a natural brick look. The Eurobrick process is colored through our Kwik Kolor process, which allows for curbing to be recolored or changed at a later time.
